The Season of Declaration...

So for all of those who were there today, The Pursuit was awesome! And for those that weren't, I urge you to come check us out! But more importantly, I urge you to come and find yourself deeper in the love of our Creator. Towards the end of our time together, Pastor Brad felt lead to start speaking out in remembrance. We were basically making a declaration of the things that God has promised us. It is not because we feel like God has forgotten. God remembers His promises. But there are many instances in the Word that the prophets, teachers, and people of God would ask God to remember. Maybe a better way of saying it for todays world would be, "God, we believe these promises are true even though we haven't seen them yet because we know you won't leave a promise unfulfilled." But what has been on my heart is the power in the declaration of these things. There is a very big difference between speaking something and declaring something. If you'll notice, we don't have the "Asking of Independence". We have something much greater in the "Declaration of Independence". There's a feeling of resolution with this. I think with a declaration, there is a component of faith involved as opposed to casually speaking things. When we declare something, we are basically stating as fact something that hasn't happened yet. When we as a nation declared our independence from England, we were not free at that moment. But we spoke it as if we were. That's the element of faith. I say all of that to say that I feel as if God is asking us to make declarations in this season. This is not a season to hope things happen. This is a season to declare the things we want church. Do you want to see faith increase in our church? Declare it. Do you want healing for whatever is hurting you? Declare it. Do you want to see your kid's grow up to be powerful and active follower's of Jesus? Declare it. The choice is yours. As for me, I'm going to start making declarations of my faith knowing full well that when I make a declaration in the spirit, it's not me that fulfills it. It is He who has overcome the world!
Blessings
