Knowing Who You Are

I'm almost home from vacation and God has made something very clear to me the last couple days. We all need to have a firm grasp on who we are. Some of us are younger, some of us are older, some of us have kids, some of us don't. And even through all of those things, it's amazing that when confronted with the question of "who are you?", many of us can't answer. I use to spend a lot of nights trying to answer that. I'd have elaborate dreams of what I thought would be great for myself. I'd picture things I could accomplish and try and sort through the ones I liked. And somehow, it completely missed me to ever turn to God and ask Him. If you ask a craftsman what they created and what it's purpose is, they can tell you. I don't think it's any different when it comes it to us. We were all created by an awesome Creator. So why are we trying to define ourselves or figure out why we are here on our own? We all happen to serve the very God that can tell you who you are. And that is the point I'm driving at. If something is never defined, what is it good for? Take a chair. If no one had ever said, this is a chair, you sit in it, no one would have any reason to use it and the purpose of that chair would go completely unused. We need to know who we are. There's something inside of us that in many ways, longs for definition. I'm learning who my Creator has created me to be because to be anything else would be a lie. I hope you all consider this at some point this week church. Let's not be a church of uselessness. Let's be a church of purpose, of passion, and of definition.
Prayerfully
